The timing of this is perfection. I stepped outside today with my coat on and felt - for the first time this season- the warmth of the sun wrap around me so I didn't need my coat! Thank you for the reminder of the seasonal change both internally and externally.

I am excited to step outside soon barefoot as well and be one with the earth- something that I miss dearly during the winter months.

I also have my list of creative ways I wanted to engage with winter that is not finished yet, so embracing spring now makes me feel a little behind! And I don't know what an enfleurage is! Something new for me to learn.

Aw wonderful! That first warmth! I love it!

I agree with you on the unfinished winter list. Here we didn’t ever get snow, so that season does feel like it didn’t quite happen right. I’m still mourning that. Writing this essay is what has gotten me embracing spring.

An enfleurage is a way of extracting scent from flowers and plants with a fat. The end results is pomade. Essentially, if I do it, I’ll be laying individual lilac flowers face down onto lard or shea for *hours*. Such fun. 🤪

I love that idea of such a process, and a slow one!

I am still waiting for our snow also- it almost feels like I can’t move fully into spring until I have a snow...but I think I will have to jump over that mental hurdle.
